ABSTRACT

The Web is the ultimate source for information on computer games and the developers who make them. At the time of publication, the websites cater to game developers and either include job openings or game developer listings for further exploration. Many also serve as a general forum for development topics and the latest news. The top game audio jobs are not being posted online; they are being filled by composers who already know someone on the game team at the company in question. Game producers understand that while they may be in San Francisco, their perfect person for the audio job could live in Florida or Germany or New Zealand. Information is the key to finding one's place in the game industry. Games are a multi-billion-dollar a year affair, and there are tons of data available to those who want it.
