ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in this book. The book builds upon a few foundational premises. The first foundational premise is the importance of context in communication in general, and in Bible translation in particular. Translation is challenging, and translating the Bible into a language for the first time is even more so. Standard training for Bible translators has focused on linguistics, translation principles, exegesis, and biblical languages. This training agenda is based on assumptions from the code model which perceived of meaning as being encoded in the text. The journey has been a long one and has taken many unexpected places. The chapter finds many differences between Adioukrou and first-century Jewish worldviews. Instead of finding many similarities, with Western worldview often the odd one out and in need of contextual information.
