ABSTRACT
With the rapid development of China’s economy, the community’s demand for increasing is applications of talent to make an unprecedented development of higher education. October 2000, the State Department of Higher Education issued a “foreign language teaching basic education requirements.” “Basic requirements” clearly stated that in order to be practical, to apply for the purpose of “teaching ideas and teaching foreign language curriculum objectives are to develop students’ language proficiency. The educational features and fully reflects the new direction of reform of college English teaching philosophy, has been fully affirmed the administrations of education and of teachers and students. “Basic requirements” also pointed out that “teaching methods and the use of computers actively introducing multimedia, networking and other modern technology to improve foreign language teaching conditions in schools. Organize a variety of foreign language students to participate in extracurricular activities, to create a good atmosphere for learning foreign language, to inspire students learning a foreign language consciousness and enthusiasm.”
