ABSTRACT
Taiwan is located in sub-tropical zone with hot and humid climate and the residential buildings consume about 20% of the overall energy consumption in Taiwan. Although the government restrict the average roof thermal transmittance of building to less than 1.0 w/(m2 ⋅ k), architects emphasize the building aesthetic landscape requirement in cope with the need to saving energy; they urgently expect the academia to provide green rooftop related technology and information for supporting their green rooftop design concept that motivates the initiation of this research.
