ABSTRACT

The HSI color model can be described using the terms hue, saturation, and intensity, which represents colors within a double-cone space (Sanchez-Cuevas et al. 2013), as shown in Figure 1. Hue represents various colors in RGB, saturation stands for colorfulness of a stimulus relative to its own brightness, and intensity is the total amount of light passing through a particular area, which makes no contribution to the color.
