ABSTRACT

The chapter examines blended learning in the context of higher education. It attempts to investigate the origins of blended learning, the relationship to e-learning, and the implications, limitations, and future trends of blended learning. It is also aimed at targeting higher education decision makers who are actively considering the deployment of e-learning solutions for their institutions. The chapter additionally serves as a useful instrument to academic and training institutions having an interest in pursuing alternatives methods of learning in the face of fully online or traditional instruction-led learning.
