With an expanding population of over 335 million in mid-2014, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and its 15 Member States represent approximately one-third of sub-Saharan Africa’s total population.1 The region encompasses a diverse set of demographic, socio-economic, and social contexts.
