Pages 13

BORDIN'S (1979) CONCEPT OF THE THERAPEUTIC ALLIANCE As a rational-emotive therapist I have found the work of Ed Bordin (1979) on the concept of the therapeutic alliance particularly helpful in develo ping a basic framework for the conduct of RET. Bordin argues that the therapeutic alliance refers to the complex of attachments and shared understand ings formed and activities undertaken by therapists and clients as the former attempt to help the latter with their psychological problems.
