The attitude of an advertising copy writer toward his job determines to a large extent the success he makes of it and a few points of advice may prove to be of some assistance over the rough spots. A college education is suitable and advisable, but many of the most successful advertising copy writers have graduated from the college of hard knocks. A distinct line of demarcation between the copy writer and the space salesman, although nowadays the successful advertising representative of any of the leading industrial publications must know a good bit about copy writing and should be able to sit at the desk of his prospect and outline copy and advertising ideas. Good advertising copy produces results for the advertiser, and results are what make an advertiser stick with the publisher.
