ABSTRACT
While automobility may be entrenched, the form it has taken has been neither
inevitable nor pre-ordained, while the solutions to its contradictions are neither
impermeable nor simple. The contemporary auto-city is not only a product of
automobility, but also the field upon which the contradictions and struggles orig-
inating under automobility must be resolved.
