ABSTRACT

The quality of parenting children receive has a major influence on their development, well-being, and life opportunities (Collins et al., 2000). It is increasingly recognized that if a society values the well-being of its children it must invest in effective prevention and early intervention programs that promote children’s development (Biglan, Flay, Embry, & Sandler, 2012). Of all the potentially modifiable influences that can be targeted through intervention, none are more important than the quality of parenting children receive.
