ABSTRACT

This chapter talks about the secret of attitude. One of the main ingredients separating the best teachers from the rest is simply attitude. The chapter discusses how teachers feel when working with someone who is always pessimistic. The teacher's lounge should be a place to go and relax for short periods of time during the school day. The chapter shows how teachers would describe the atmosphere of their teacher's lounge on a typical day. A teacher's attitude spills over onto the students and affects their attitudes. The chapter gives two examples of how teachers might handle an upset student. It also shows how to portray an attitude of responsibility. Effective teachers always assume responsibility for students who are not succeeding in their classrooms. The chapter explores how to have the best attitude on the faculty. A positive attitude is a key element of effective teaching. Effective teachers communicate frequently with their student's parents.
