ABSTRACT

This chapter talks about the secret of motivation and inspiration. There are two groups of teachers: the really good ones and the really bad ones. The chapter describes the habits and actions of the worst teacher one ever had. It shows how to make every student feel like teacher's favorite student. Effective teachers make genuinely positive comments such as welcoming students to the classroom and praising those who behave as expected. The chapter explores how to show personal interest in every student. One of the best ways to motivate and inspire students is to show personal interest in them. The chapter identifies two students who are struggling - either with personal or academic issues. Effective teachers agree that praise is one of the most powerful tools that can use to positively impact on students. The chapter also shows how to motivate unmotivated students. It includes statements from effective teachers and less-than-effective teachers regarding student motivation.
