ABSTRACT
Perhaps the most benefi cial way of gaining an understanding of the trial process is by doing several court visits during which you are able to observe advocates at work. The observation of the questioning of a witness by an effective advocate will assist in bringing the structure of the trial process to ‘life’ and will ensure that you understand and appreciate the fi xed stages during which questioning may take place.
