ABSTRACT

Lighting an interior night scene can be challenging at times, especially when dealing with multiple light sources and colours to achieve a balanced scene. The following tutorial will help users set up and light an interior night scene quickly, while using industry standard techniques, as well as some new cutting-edge ones. The photo reference depicts everything that encapsulates a night interior shot: There's a cold blue tint from the skylight entering the space, balanced by the warm colours generated by the recessed lights. The next step is to begin adding lights to the small windows seen directly outside the main glass window. Use some of the techniques described earlier to create a new V-Ray plane light and rename it 'VRayLight_Window house'. The final step is to copy/instance this new light multiple times around the window areas. Place them strategically so they point towards the surfaces seen through the window.
