ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on building an entire 3D animated scene from scratch. MAXON CINEMA 4D is ideal for new 3D users who quickly want to expand their 2D skills in motion graphics and visual effects. The first chapter gave you a grand tour of how CINEMA 4D Lite and CINEWARE work with After Effects. Creating 3D models and manipulating them within a virtual space can take some time to get used to. As with learning any new skill, it takes patience, perserverance, and practice. The basic projection mapping methods are cubical, cylindrical, and spherical. Cubical mapping applies the material from six directions and the texture is on each side. Cylindrical mapping wraps the texture around an object as though it were a tube. Spherical mapping wraps a texture around an object with the texture gathered at the top and bottom poles.
