ABSTRACT

This book focused on ocean diplomacy and politics as it pertains to Japanese maritime and fisheries policy in the Pacific during the post-war period. Through an examination of the motives and means for international fisheries policy and an analysis of the domestic and international factors that have facilitated or constrained them, a much more realistic understanding of the politics of ocean resource use and management can be achieved.
