chapter  9
Conclusion and recommendations for regulatory reform
Pages 18

This conclusion chapter presents some closing thoughts of key concepts covered in preceding chapters of this book. The book explained a critical evaluation of inclusion and exclusion conceptually and in practice. It talked about a detailed evaluation of the limitations to binary categories dividing sex and gender. Mixed-sex participation is offered in a number of modern alternative sports which are growing in popularity. The regulatory approach to striking a balance to inclusion and exclusion is the establishment of an International Anti-Discrimination in Sport Unit (IADSU) who would act as an enforcement body for the fight against discrimination in sport. To exempt specific rules such as the segregation of men and women's competition is to ignore the real issues of sport that most require governance and guidance on good sports policy. The audit will encourage sports bodies to review the scale of natural and artificial advantages in their sports to better reflect significant developments in science and technology.
