ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some strategy thoughts on the concepts covered in the book. It aims to enable and understand how hand notation systems are developed. There are several types of data collection systems that are roughly divided into three categories: scatter diagram, sequential data system, frequency table. They are divided based on the nature of the data collected. Scatter diagrams are simple and are often used to gather data in-event and enable immediate feedback for the coach and athlete. They are usually used in the form of drawing a schematic representation of the playing surface of the sport. Frequency tables are another commonly used form of data gathering that enables quick, simple analyses of performance of athletes and teams. Sequential data systems are calculated by recording the sequence interpreting a performance. These can be very informative for the coach and for players, but also the opposition. These patterns can also help the sports scientist to understand different sports.
