ABSTRACT

Sensitivity towards being the target of upward comparison (STTUC) should become increasingly important for leadership and organisational behaviour researchers and practitioners. This is so because comparison processes and their consequences (which may include STTUC) are entrenched in the structures of organisations (Greenberg et al . 2007 ). Accordingly, to fully understand the impact of STTUC experiences on employees, their performance and/or their career progress, it is essential to have a valid and reliable instrument designed to assess employees’ experiences of STTUC.
