ABSTRACT
Balance is defi ned as the equal distribution of visual weight to either side of a perceived or implied center of gravity . It is, essentially, the idea of visual equilibrium and suggests
the quality of stability in a work of art. Opposing forces are
reconciled and brought together in an image. Visual weight is
equalized and visual tension may be soothed or heightened.
