ABSTRACT
The Washington-Ankara strategic relationship from the end of the 1970s till the end of the 1990s can be examined through a variety of alternative interpretative frameworks and hence understood in different ways. This book has tried to map, in a broad outline, the parameters that, to my mind, determined the evolution of the bilateral relationship – with a focus on the Middle East strategic context – which have not been adequately examined in the mainstream literature.
