ABSTRACT

The Ohio River is born at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The intersections among the concepts with a view toward extending the commitment action researchers make to work for a positive social change to include recognition of our responsibility. This chapter builds an argument for the mutual usefulness of contrasting and combining the knowledge making process of action research with ecofeminism, and to explore the ethical sources of these systems. The moving presentation by whistleblower Joe Carson, licensed professional engineer, and a facility representative and safety inspector from the US Department of Energy (DOE), in Oak Ridge. The another ongoing project growing out of local response to Hurricane Katrina is the work being done to challenge environmental racism by the Vietnamese American Young Leaders Association (VAYLA) of New Orleans. The mutual respect that allow local communities to continue their efforts to work together to address critical social, economic, political, and environmental problems.
