ABSTRACT
SIR J. J. THOMSON has developed a new method of representing physical processes in terms of moving entities and electric lines of force. An account of Thomson's views first appeared in Engineering,* being part of a report of a series of lectures delivered at the Royal Institution, 1920. These views are presented below. They are based upon the above report and they also correspond closely with a similar one compiled by the writer. †
