ABSTRACT

Wind power planning can mean several things and be undertaken at different levels by various actors. To start from the top we have international treaties, or recommendations like the Kyoto Protocol. To achieve the targets for reductions of CO2 emissions, to address the threat of global climate change, an important step is to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy sources, one of which is wind power. These kinds of international treaties govern overall ambitions for development of wind power and other renewable energy sources at the national and international levels.
