ABSTRACT

One of the first things we want to do is build a fence around the child, to help him to feel more safe and secure. Although many issues will be addressed with parent training and self-control skills training, certain issues can be addressed very early on, with case management. The case management may be done directly by the therapist, or by anyone in the family’s system that can get the job done. These case management interventions can often have a significant impact on the child’s ability to recover from past trauma, and should be effected as soon as possible.
