ABSTRACT
In April 1991, i made my public debut as an out bisexual at a booksigning of Bi Any Other Name (Hutchins and Ka’ahumanu, 1991). I had never before entered a gay and lesbian bookstore and i wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew i needed to attend this event, despite my fears. That fateful day i willingly crossed the invisible threshold from my straight-appearing life into a world of new possibilities, challenges, and friends. I hoped thai community would welcome this Latina woman with open arms.
