ABSTRACT

Heterogender love is a coupling of at least one male with at least one female. Their relationship may or may not be sexual. Some heterogender lovers marry as openly gay or lesbian individuals, such as in the case of Jane and Paul Bowles, while others come out to themselves and others after they are married, such as Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West. Heterogender love is also found in bisexuals (H.D., Margaret Mead, Will Geer) and in transgendered people (Calamity Jane, George Sand).
