ABSTRACT

NA became of great interest because of the memory problem he developed as a result (e.g. Squire and Moore, 1979). This is illustrated by his conversation with the psychologist Wayne Wickelgren.

I was introduced to NA in a small coffee room in the Psychology Department at MIT .... NA heard my name and he said,

'Wickelgren, that's a German name isn't it?' I said, 'No.' 'Irish?' 'No.' 'Scandinavian?' 'Yes, it's Scandinavian.'
