ABSTRACT

We thank our commentators for their thoughtful and constructive comments on our work. We are particularly pleased to see such a broad range of theoretical perspectives among the commentaries. The insights offered and issues raised by this diverse group of theoreticians have done much to enhance and broaden our work. It is fortunate that even in this age of increasing specialization in psychology, the mental representation of self-knowledge is a topic wide enough in its appeal to cut across domains.
