ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the story about the Chris, she suffered with mental disorder. One day Chris wants to kill herself. She says she has the pills. Previous day she was fired from her job and next day she says she sees no way out. 'It's over', she says. Actually she says very little. She was given a choice find a less demanding job in the nursing home where she works the night shift, or apply for disability. She was hospitalized this summer and Dr. Johnson given electroshock therapy. Electroshock therapy. It sounds so barbaric, so outdated, not something that would be done to a person in the 1990s. They did it to Jack Nicholson in the movies. They did it to Anne Sexton, the poet. And they did it to her mother, when she was five. She was perplexed by the therapy process. After the therapy process she is Ok to drive.
