ABSTRACT

In 2007, Koffi Break, on behalf of Association of Grotton Authorities, wrote to Alexander Quibble at the Government Office for the region to ask him to explain the not-all-that-new development plan system. Mr Quibble has been asked to speak at the Planning in Crisis Conference in 2010, though having been in post in Dan Smith House for nearly two years it is likely that by then he will have moved to pastures new, bringing his undoubted talent to bear on some other subject of which he has no particular knowledge. The astonishing suggestion he received was that there should be just one single plan for each Authority, covering absolutely everything. Cloggley, as indicated earlier, is having to accommodate large amounts of housing and thus has a programme to prepare several plans for its growth areas. Cloggley’s Statement of Community Involvement had raised a certain frisson of excitement in the planning world when first published.
