ABSTRACT

Grimethwaite MP Bert Stott had emerged from the Members’ bar, as he was required to do on a regular basis, to simulate concern about the lack of investment in transport in his constituency. Nicola Tilbrook has had a number of tense conversations with Donald about the possibility of setting up an ‘Integrated Transport Authority’ for their combined area, hoping for support in the City’s ambitions for major investment in transport infrastructure to facilitate its plans for regeneration. Consultation by the transport planning authorities during the development, implementation and monitoring of the Legionary Transport Plan (LTP) has become ever more sophisticated. An illustration taken from the Technical Appendix to the first LTP indicates the likely position of the main routes in the vicinity at about AD 68. There is no clearer explanation of the Government’s current transport policies than that set out in a answer to a Parliamentary question.
