ABSTRACT

In 1971 it was decided to make a definite attempt to become better known in the field of academic psychology, and to get more members from that area. There was also a good deal of interest in the Department of Psychology at the University of the Philippines in developing a research programme on humanistic psychology. The Group Relations Training Association was not committed to humanistic psychology, but this particular conference probably went further in the direction of that orientation than anything they have done before or since, both in form and in content. Sadly, this organization no longer exists. The Association for Humanistic Psychology publicly call for global nuclear disarmament, a moratorium on the construction of nuclear power plants, a phased decommissioning of existing plants, and a comprehensive program to conserve energy and implement the alternative, renewable energy technologies which already exist.
