ABSTRACT
Victoria was referred by her general practitioner. The referral letter was rather brief and stated that she had requested psychological help following her disclosure to him that she had been sexually abused as a child. She had come to the realisation, at the age of twenty-nine, that her personal relationships were suffering as a result of that experience. Her general practitioner was the first person to whom she had disclosed the abuse.
