The physical environment of Sun-Hope had been rehabilitated, but the socioeconomic situation of many of its residents had not changed. The development and stability of the Sun-Hope community depended also on the improvement in the socioeconomic conditions of the tenants. The situation of a majority of the tenants, however, was complicated by their own cultural capital: lack of education and marketable skills and familial constraints as single parents.
