ABSTRACT

Acontribution of the current study is the development of a measure of neighborhood perceptions, a self-report scale that assesses four dimensions of neighborhood life that are relevant to parents of small children. The results of the CFA performed on the PNS at two points in time indicated that the four-factor structure hypothesized is a plausible model for the observed data. Although these results are encouraging, cross validation of the factor structure of the scale in a new sample is obviously needed.
