Neighborhood Context and Child Development

There has been a recent increase in the number of studies with an explicit focus on neighborhood dynamics, partic­ ularly on the neighborhood networks in which individuals and families are embedded, and the implications of these relationships for child and family well-being (Bursik & Grasmick, 1993; Kupersmidt, Griesler, De Rosier, Patterson, & Davies, 1995) .
