ABSTRACT
Alexander Lowen, M.D., received his medical degree from the University of Geneva in 1951. He received degrees in law from the Brooklyn Law School. Dr. Lowen studied with Wilhelm Reich from 1940 through 1952, and has been a practicing psychiatrist from 1952 to the present. He founded the Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis in 1956. Dr. Lowen has published 12 books on his bioenergetic approach and is the founder and Executive Director of The International Institute for Bioenergetic Studies.
