ABSTRACT

Eugene Gendlin is Associate Professor at the Department of Behavioral Sciences at the University of Chicago. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from The University of Chicago in 1958. Dr. Gendlin was founder and editor of Psychotherapy, Theory, Research, and Practice and was winner of the first Distinguished Professional Psychologist Award from the Psychotherapy Division of the American Psychological Association. He has numerous publications including his books on focusing, the approach to psychotherapy that he pioneereed.
