ABSTRACT

Adults who have been molested as children (AMACs) characteristically live with secret, yet common histories. Group treatment exposes the common patterns of experience and behavior through the mutual reflection and self-disclosure of its homogenous membership. Issues relating to group preparation, group developmental stages, and suggested activities are linked with process themes. This time-limited group treatment program is educationally and therapeutically balanced. It provides for teaching and modeling of behaviors and skills that effect change toward more functional relationship patterns and decision-making processes.
