The effect of a cancelling clause 7.5 Many charters, including the New York Produce form, do not contain a delivery date, but
do contain a cancelling clause. In the New York Produce form, the cancelling clause is Clause 14. The primary effect of the clause is to give the charterers an option to cancel if the ship is not ready for delivery by the cancelling date: see chapter 24.
