It often seems that there are as many standard forms of construction contract as there are builders — the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Institution of Civil Engineers, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), just to name a few have their forms and the list continues to grow.
