ABSTRACT
According to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, there are four large categories of Christian denominations and numerous smaller groups. Evangelical churches are often non-denominational; they may have been part of a larger denomination in the past and later chose to become an independent church. The Mainline Protestant Christians tend to be involved in a wide range of local community outreach efforts to help the less fortunate in their communities. The Black Church has been for its members a unique source of inspiration, belief, and hope. The Roman Catholic Church has changed over the centuries in some ways and remains committed to historical traditions in other ways. The first spiritual fathers of Judaism, known as the patriarchs, include Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Islam's roots are in the Biblical family of Adam, Noah, and Abraham. Hinduism is the predominant religion of India; Hindu actually means 'the belief of the people of India.
