ABSTRACT
Immigration affects both the countries that immigrants leave and the countries where immigrants go. This chapter examines how immigration affects the labor market in the destination country from a theoretical perspective. The chapter focuses on how immigration affects natives’ wages and employment. Concern that immigration has a negative effect on nativeborn workers often dominates discussions about immigration policy, making this one of the most important topics in the economics of immigration.
