ABSTRACT

There are three phases in an architectural photo shoot: pre-production, the actual shooting, and post-production. Pre-production involves a study of the site, gathering information, defining objectives, building a shot list, and arranging for access. The shoot day is when the principal photography happens. Finally post-production is where the total shoot is pared down to a select group of images that are processed from rough drafts into finished photographs. The pre-production and the post-production are just as important to the final result as the actual shooting. A poorly planned shoot will not allow you to make the best images possible. Similarly, a poorly edited shoot will result in a weak group of images. The careful execution of each of the parts supports the success of the whole.
