ABSTRACT

One of the key differences between a professional photographer and an amateur is that the professional has access. If you show up on-site unexpected with a professional camera and tripod you may be asked to leave. You need to have access to the site and permission for photography. If your client is the developer, owner, or architect it’s usually very simple to set up access and this is something they will arrange (make sure you confirm this). If you are shooting for an editorial client or for yourself you will likely need to set up your own access and permission.
