ABSTRACT
Within movement actions (Tamboer, 1988) tool-use can be defined as a temporal attachment of an object to an actor’s body, thereby changing the actor’s action potentialities or effectivities. In tool-use control is primarily exerted to establish a particular interface between the tool and the environment. Henceforth, control over the relation between actor and tool is subordinate to control over the relation between tool and environment.
