ABSTRACT

The truth is somewhere in between, but by departing from the truth they lost touch with the majority of the People voted not only against austerity but against the fact that forty per cent live the poverty line and eighty per cent are worse off than they were four years ago. The material situation of the people dropped for the first since the War. People saw that only a few benefited from the Solidarity changes and they saw their behaviour in parliament. But then the images died away and the story became more complex and the West left the heroes it had feted to fulfil the people’s expectation alone. Family planning, contraceptives were never as easily available as they were in the West, but in the last four years they became even less available. The attack on sex education in school made its teaching a sham.
