ABSTRACT
In any fault-finding exercise it is extremely useful to have the necessary documentation relating to the pneumatic and/or hydraulic system available. Such documentation should be supplied by the manufacturer/supplier of the fluid power system when it is delivered and/or installed. In general, the documentation for a fluid power system comprises:
• clear system layout diagrams with labelIed valves and lines • circuit diagrams • list of components • component data sheets • displacement-step diagrams
• operating instructions • installation and maintenance manuals • list of spare parts for critical items.
